Weekly Market Rollup Sept Week #3 2021
Cow pee in the toilet, casino stock dumped, India equity in danger, Will Battery get cheaper?. Oil up Gold down while USD sideway. Canva is worth $40billion, Ray Dalio buys Bitcoin & more...
What are we have for this week? Everything from Cow learning to Pee in the proper toilet to Ducks helping you to have more privacy in surfing the internet.
1: The Green Future
Scientists Are Toilet-Training Baby Cows to Cut Emissions
A toilet-training program designed to help treat cow urine more sustainably could help minimize the environmental impact of toxic substances produced by the waste.
After 15 days of training, three-quarters of the calves learned the full set of skills within 20 to 25 urinations. That’s faster than the time it takes for the average toddler to pick up the habit.
Cow urine has a high concentration of nitrate, a substance that, as it breaks down in contact with soil, leads to land contamination and pollution of nearby waterways if not managed properly. It also produces nitrous oxide, a greenhouse gas 300 times more potent than carbon dioxide. Combined with feces, the mixture creates ammonia, another contributor to toxic emissions.
2: China The Asia Dragon:
Macau Casino Stocks Continues To Drop In Hong Kong as Beijing Tightens Its Grip
Sands China Ltd. and Wynn Macau Ltd. dropped 23%, the biggest slide since their inception in 2005.
Below is a line chart showing % of investors shorting both stocks.
It’s already a tough year for the casino industry caused by pandemics, now when the government stepped in and appointed representatives to “supervise” the casino operators and tighten controls on the distribution of dividends.
This further sent casino stock to the south.
3: Asia, truly Asian
India Great Stock Run Is A Great Risk To Nation’s Economy
Nifty 50 index is up by 25%++ Year to date, & it trades 35% above emerging market (red line). However, such great gain also comes with great risk. The higher stocks climb, the greater the risks to the economy if they correct.
Currently, India's equity is trading at 22.2 times the estimated 12-month earnings. My advice remains the same - Do not chase the Bull.
4: Market @ A Glance:
Oil continues to advance.
Gold dropped for 2 weeks in a row after finding resistance at $1830.
US dollar has remained flat for the past 36 weeks. If the dollar can break the resistance, we shall see the index continue climbing higher.
5: Supply Chain:
Electric vehicles are generally more expensive than gas vehicles today because the batteries use in EVs are expensive. So governments around the world step in to offer to subsidize, making owning an EV more affordable. But once Batteries prices are reduced, Government can stop offering to subsidize, and we shall see EV take off from there.
Over the past decade, prices had fallen from almost $1,200 per kilowatt-hour to just $137/kWh in 2020. For an EV with a 50 kWh battery pack, that’s a savings of more than $43,000 in real terms.
If the trend continues, we will see this year's price will be around $125/kWh. However, will this drop be sustainable?
The cathode part of the battery amount to 51% of the manufacturing cost (including processing). If we take away all the processing costs, around 40% of a cell’s cost is tied to commodities. Then if inflation hit, commodities price will rise, this makes batteries more expensive to produce. - thus, automakers have had the ability to hedge against commodity price increases.
Global X Lithium & Battery Tech ETF has rallied 22.57% since my recommendation on the 1st of June 2021. Battery Investment has been a good investment in the past 2 years due to the EVs theme.
6: Tech Crunch:
iPhone 13 is here.
But don’t expect lots of major changes this time around. The main change will be a smaller notch at the top of the display. Here are a few.
The new camera features: Portrait mode dubbed Cinematic Video, a new AI-driven filter system to apply different styles to your photos, and higher-quality video recording in ProRes
Faster processor: The new A15 chip
Updated screens: new LTPO (low-temperature polycrystalline oxide) displays on the Pro models. That likely means a higher refresh rate, like ProMotion on the iPad Pro.
Satellite features: which already explain on Sept week #1 issue
Two weeks solid sell-off from the $156 level after a nested wedge top. Always in short in play. I expected the price is to go down more.

Huawei Creating Soul For Car
After losing market dominance in cellphone, Huawei is making a bet to create software that runs cars. Its “Huawei Inside” intelligent-vehicle platform acts like the car’s central nervous system, running everything from the lidar sensors to cameras that are increasingly essential to modern vehicles.
Huawei already has dealt with several Chinese players, including Ford’s partner here, Changan Auto. - this business model works in the computer world, where we see “intel Inside” in almost all PC from different brands. However, nobody knew if this business model would work on cars.

8: The New World: Crypto, Defi, Metaverse & Beyond
Cash is still trash, according to Ray Dalio. The Bridgewater founder ( world largest hedge fund) says that the advantage that equities currently have will shrink over time and that it's important to diversify. Dalio said he has some money in Bitcoin—a "small percentage" of what he has in gold—but warned that if it's really successful, governments will try to kill it. - and they start to kill it via tax and strict regulation.
8: Opinions
Two-thirds of businesses around the world are struggling to hire.
Manufacturers face competition from retailers like Amazon and Walmart as the race to hire workers by pushing up wages and benefits.
Will robots take over labor jobs? So now let’s face this, Would you rather make $15 an hour working at a sawmill or inside a Home Depot? The first is hard work under the sun; the latter is inside an air-conditioned building.

A better Search Engine than Google or yahoo?
What’s wrong with google? - they track your browsing history to bombard you with related advertisements.
Twitter Inc. CEO Jack Dorsey had made DuckDuckGo the default search engine for my browsers this month and said it has better search quality.
DuckDuckGo has additional privacy benefits: the company says it doesn’t track search history or collect personal data.
This is your gateway to a calmer and more privacy browsing: https://duckduckgo.com.
